Terms and Conditions - Creative Screen Retreats

Welcome to Creative Screen Retreats. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between Creative Screen Retreats (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and any individual or entity (“Participant”, “you”, or “your”) booking a retreat, course, or masterclass through our website (www.creativescreenretreats.com) or associated platforms (www.screenactorsretreat.com, www.fizzandgingerfilms.co.uk).

By booking a service with Creative Screen Retreats, you agree to be bound by these Terms. We provide transformative education for actors, screenwriters, and filmmakers, combining professional industry expertise with holistic well-being.

 

1. Booking and Financial Terms

1.1 Registration

To participate in our programs, you must complete the registration process and provide accurate, current information. Your place is not confirmed until we have received either a non-refundable deposit or the full payment, as specified for the particular service.

​

1.2 Payment

All fees must be paid in British Pounds (GBP).

  • To secure your place on a retreat or masterclass, a non-refundable deposit of between 15-25% is required at the time of booking.

  • Full payment must be received no later than fourteen (14) days before the start of the retreat/course.

  • If the balance is not paid by this time, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and retain the deposit.

 

1.3 Holistic Activities

Our programs may include physical or holistic activities, such as yoga or reiki. By participating, you represent that you are in good physical health and have no medical conditions that would prevent your safe participation. You are responsible for notifying us of any physical limitations or allergies prior to the event.

 

2. Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that industry schedules change. However, due to our small group sizes and the rural nature of our location, cancellations affect us significantly.

2.1 Non-Refundable Deposit

All deposits are non-refundable. This covers administrative costs and secures your spot in our small-group environment.

2.2 Standard Cancellation Schedule

  • 30+ days' notice: You will receive a full refund of any fees paid, minus the non-refundable deposit.

  • 14–30 days' notice: You will receive a 50% refund of any fees paid, minus the non-refundable deposit.

  • Less than 14 days' notice: No refunds will be issued.

 

2.3 The "Professional Call" Clause (for Actors/Creatives)

If you are unable to attend because you have been contracted for professional work (proof of contract required):

  • You may transfer your booking to another person, subject to our prior approval of the candidate.

  • Alternatively, we will offer a credit note for a future retreat only if we are able to fill your spot from our waiting list. If your spot cannot be filled, no credit or refund will be issued.

 

2.4 Cancellation by Creative Screen Retreats

In the unlikely event that we must cancel a retreat due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient enrollment, you will be offered a full refund of all monies paid to us. We are not responsible for any peripheral costs incurred by the Participant, such as travel, flights, or equipment purchases.

 

3. Intellectual Property

3.1 Course Materials

All materials provided during the retreats and masterclasses, including scripts, production guides, and educational handouts, are the intellectual property of Creative Screen Retreats or our instructors. These are for your personal use only and may not be distributed or sold.

3.2 Filmed Content

During screen acting retreats, we may film your performances for educational review. Ownership of the raw footage remains with Creative Screen Retreats. While we may provide you with clips for your showreel at our discretion, this is a courtesy and not a contractual right unless specifically stated in the course description.

3.3 Publicity

We reserve the right to take photographs or video footage of the retreat environment for promotional purposes. By attending, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your image in our marketing materials. If you wish to opt out, you must notify us in writing before the retreat begins.

 

4. Participant Conduct and Safety

4.1 Health and Safety

  • Our retreats take place in a rural setting (Starston Hall). Participants are responsible for their own safety when exploring the grounds.

  • Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations prior to the retreat.

  • Participation in holistic activities (Yoga, Reiki, etc.) is at your own risk.

 

4.2 Conduct

We pride ourselves on providing a supportive, personalised, and safe environment. We reserve the right to ask any participant to leave if their behaviour is disruptive or harmful to others, without a refund.

4.3 Liability

Creative Screen Retreats (Fizz & Ginger Films) is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained during your stay, except where caused by our gross negligence.

 

5. Data Protection

We process your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Your information is used solely for the administration of your booking and, if you opt-in, to provide you with ongoing support and community updates.

 

6. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
